Travel Highlights of 2018

Last December I wrote a blog post about my Travel Highlights of 2017. Writing that blog post was a great way to reflect on the memories I made over the year and the many wonderful travel opportunities I got to embark on. Therefore, I’m keeping the tradition this year and sharing my travel highlights of 2018 with you!

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA

On New Year’s day, we drove from Miami, Florida to Savannah, Georgia and stopped there for a few days before we made our way back up to Virginia. Savannah is one of my favorite cities in the U.S. and I’ve made it a point to frequent it as much as possible.

WILLIAMSBURG, VIRGINIA

For my birthday, Daniel and I planned a weekend getaway to Williamsburg, Virginia. We got to explore this historic area and even made our way over to Jamestown colony to learn more about the history of the region.

GEORGETOWN, COLORADO

I went on a family trip to Georgetown, Colorado in late February. We went skiing at Loveland Ski Resort and had a fantastic time exploring the little town of Georgetown.

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

In March, I joined my best lady friends and their mommas in San Antonio. We ate the best tacos, visited the cutest shops and explored all parts of the city.

BARCELONA, SPAIN

Thanks to Scott’s Cheap Flights, my boyfriend and I found non-stop roundtrip flights to Barcelona for about $300 dollars. We had the absolute best time exploring this beautiful city and the surrounding region. One of my favorite trips thus far!

CADAQUES, SPAIN

Cadaqués is a magical fishing village on the southern coast of Spain. Bordering France, Cadaqués is a frequent summer destination for those living in Spain, France & across Europe. Check out my blog post on “Easy Day Trips from Barcelona” to learn more about this paradise.

GIRONA, SPAIN

In Girona, we pretended to be “extras” in Game of Thrones since various episodes were shot in this medieval town. Definitely a spot worth visiting. You can also learn more by reading “Easy Day Trips from Barcelona“.

HARPERS FERRY, WEST VIRGINIA

We celebrated the end of summer by tubing in West Virginia. Daniel & I try to visit Harper’s Ferry at least once a year… because it’s that fun!

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA

I had the chance to visit my college town, Gainesville, three times this year. Twice for the MBA program I started this fall and once for the University of Florida’s Hispanic Alumni Weekend. This year, I brought my mom and cousin with me to enjoy the weekend festivities.

MIAMI, FLORIDA

Since Miami is my hometown, I try to visit my family as much as possible. I came down to Miami about four different times this year.

MUNICH, GERMANY

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I went on a work trip to Germany. Although we were  mostly in back to back meetings, we got to sneak a little exploring here and there. The first portion of the trip was to Munich which I’ve frequented now a few times… but this was my first time visiting during the winter.

BERLIN, GERMANY

The next stop of my trip was to Berlin. As a first time visitor, I really wish I had more time to explore. Daniel met me after my meetings and we tried to fit in as much as possible into our schedule.

I feel extremely lucky to have had so many opportunities to travel in 2018. Each new city brought me new experiences, perspectives and the chance to meet new people. I hope I find myself just as lucky in 2019!
